THE DENTAL SURGERY – UYO SMILE CENTER
Dr. Ekere Essien, sole proprietor of The Dental Surgery – Uyo Smile Center, for his continuous and exemplary
generosity to my Foundations’ scholars and adult volunteers. Since 2019 you have been providing free and regular
first class dental care (check-up, cleaning, surgery, and other forms of services) to these scholars and their teachers.
It certainly takes a village to raise a child, as the saying goes. I very much appreciate your enthusiastic and active
membership in this “village”. Thank you very much for your excellent citizenship and friendship. You have certainly
put the wonderful smiles on my scholars’ faces.
ENWONGO-ABASI MEDICAL CENTER
Dr. Udeme Ette (aka Adoctor Amami), thank you very much for going above and beyond the Hippocratic Oath in
your services to humanity as exemplified in the services that you have rendered to my scholars and their parents
since 2019. You have not only been providing them exceptional, critical and urgent medical care (including
surgeries), but have also been giving them year-round routine check-ups and and other out-patient and in-patient
services. My Foundations’ growth and successes have been the result of the boundless generosity of friends like you.
Thank you for keeping my scholars alive and healthy.
New Balance
Mr. Chris Davis (Chief Marketing Officer, New Balance) the footballs (real footballs, that is ) that you donated early this year had and continues to have an enormous impact on the social lives of the elementary schools’ kids in all of Etinan – not just the kids in my Foundation. For the first time, most of these kids have real footballs (brand new, age-appropriate sizes and brand name balls) to play with during recess, and enough to take them through 2024. Given that football is Nigeria’s unofficial “religion”, the kids have been understandably more appreciative of the balls than the school supplies that I usually donate to them. Thank you as well for the additional sports items – jerseys, t-shirts, caps, etc. Your generosity has had a very positive impact on the lives of Etinan kids. Thank you.

Mr. Ibanga Udom, thank you very much for hosting my Newton North International Service Trip team. I really appreciate the pep talk that you gave them and the overall encouragement that you have given me in my quest to enrich the lives of indigent children in Etinan through my Foundation. Prestige has certainly become a multi-service and multi-national Club. Thank you for your friendship and for taking care of the two ndito Ibokette who reside in Uyo.

Since the launching of Etinan Children’s Scholarship Foundation in August 2017 (then known as Dr. Ibokette’s
Children Scholarship Foundation), numerous friends, colleagues, relatives, classmates (from elementary school to
graduate school), Etinan traditional rulers, elders and youth, political representatives, etc. have strongly identified
with, and shown vested interest in the goals and objectives of the foundation. They have responded in a variety of
ways to my request for support and have become vested stakeholders in this novel and non-profit social enterprise
that is committed to nurturing the bodies and minds of the future generation. Thank you for giving practical
meaning to the adage that it takes a village to raise a child. Thank you for buying into my vision that investing in the
well-being of our children today is a guaranteed capital investment in our collective future.
